About Robert Davis

Former Broward County Prosecutor. Now on Your Side.

Robert Davis — Florida Bar No. 129534. Former Felony Trial Unit Supervisor, Broward County State Attorney's Office. Licensed in Florida since 1999.

A Prosecutor Who Switched Sides, For Good Reason

Robert Davis spent the early part of his career as a prosecutor at the Broward County State Attorney's Office, where he eventually served as a Felony Trial Unit Supervisor. In that role, he oversaw the prosecution of serious felony cases in the 17th Judicial Circuit, learning first-hand how the State builds its cases, what evidence prosecutors consider strong, and where most cases have holes.

He left the State Attorney's Office to put that knowledge to work on the other side of the courtroom. For the past 25+ years, he has defended individuals charged with criminal offenses throughout South Florida — Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach counties — from first-time misdemeanors to serious felonies tried before juries.

What "Former Prosecutor" Actually Means for Your Case

The phrase "former prosecutor" gets used a lot in attorney marketing. Here is what it means in practice when Robert is handling your case: he has attended the same training programs, used the same investigation manuals, and spoken to the same type of witnesses that the prosecutor assigned to your case is relying on right now. He knows what the State considers a strong case and what makes prosecutors willing to negotiate.

When Robert reviews your file, he is not guessing at the prosecution's strategy. He built those strategies for years. That experience produces better questions during depositions, better arguments at suppression hearings, and better preparation for trial.

Practice Focus

Robert limits his practice to criminal defense. He does not handle divorces, personal injury cases, or business disputes. Every client who retains him is getting an attorney whose entire practice, and entire institutional knowledge, is pointed at criminal defense. His practice areas include DUI defense, drug crimes, domestic violence, assault and battery, theft and robbery, violent crimes, record sealing and expungement, probation violations, federal crimes, and cases involving immigration consequences.

Approach to Clients

Robert takes consultations himself. You are not passed to an associate or a paralegal for the first conversation. He reviews the police report, identifies the strongest initial arguments, and gives you a direct assessment of what you are facing, without sugarcoating the difficult parts or overpromising on the outcome.

He is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Criminal charges do not wait for business hours, and neither does he. His office handles cases throughout South Florida, appearing in Broward County (17th Judicial Circuit), Miami-Dade County (11th Judicial Circuit), Palm Beach County (15th Judicial Circuit), and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida for federal matters.
